Will it hurt anything on a Duramax just removing the muffler and welding a pipe in its place? Just bought a 02 Duramax and my friend has this setup and I like the way it sounds.

Nope won't hurt a bit although some find it too loud under a load.

I think your truck will be ok with that mod.I personally don't like noise pollution though.
