Hi Guys. Today as I was driving to work my tranny started to shift strange. Long time between shifts, the rpms go over 2000 before it will shift. It feels ALMOST like its in tow/haul mode and after 10 minutes or so the service engine light came on. I cant get it into the dealer till sat.. I dont know how to check codes.. Any idea,s??

Take it to Auto Zone, if you have one close, they can check it for you.

Hi. Ok I ran over to an Auto value parts store and had the code read. I was writing this in the dark as he was talking a million miles an hour so it might not make sense.

There was a P code. U0100 power train control module.
And
P0 700 Transmission control system malfuction..

He cleared the code and the truck was perfect on the way home but its only 2 miles away..

So what are your thoughts? the truck has 35 Kilometers on it.
I changed the spin on filter at about 5000 k
had the famous leaky tranny cooler lines replaced about a month ago, I checked the fluid level today and it was fine.
Do you think this light will show up again?

Ive also had the P0700 Code myself. I still dont know why i had it. Its come on 2 since i've had the truck. Both within 24hours. Hopefully this gets moved to Allison OEM section had the tranny experts can help you more!

Calgary, it's been cold there recently, did you have your truck plugged in and chinook come in a warm up the ambient temp?

If you did, I most likely know your problem.

edit: I was looking for the tsb for you and realized there is a sticky for this. Look at the top of the page, and the first sticky "LBZ glow plug issues". This is likely what happened to your truck.
