Drove about 350 miles WI to MN this weekend. No problems on the way out (Temps in the Teens) with a tank of B5 from the local Co-op. Filled up at a truck stop in MN when we got there.
Then.... on the way home I topped off at a Quik Trip in Albert Lea with pumps that said "winterized" and about an hour later came to a slow and painful stop. Wasn't carrying a filter (I usually do) so it was a painful and COLD 3 hours to get a filter and couple bottles of Diesel 911. Changed the filter, filled it with 911 + #2 and put a bottle and 1/2 of 911 in the tank and got back on the road.
Lessons:
1. ALWAYS carry a spare fuel filter! (Need to order a few more from Fleet Filter!)
2. ALWAYS use Power Service Supplement (or similar product) for winter fueling.
Hope some of the newbies can learn from my cold afternoon!:rolleyes:
