Just an update for ya'll that know my past.. I had installed a complete 4" exhaust system and began to get white smoke and smell of raw fuel.

Well this past saturday I reinstalled the stock exhaust and smoke is gone and so is smell of fuel. Maybe the diesel mechanic I talked to is right in the fact that the LLY is so touchy with upgrades. I guess the computer didn't like the free flowing exhaust.

anyways, since installing the stock pipes the truck seems a bit different and I am sure it has to do with the computer reflash I finally got a short while ago. It seems much peppier off the line and call me crazy but the injector knock is not as loud as it used to be on acceleration.

I have a buyer for my SS exhaust system already so no worries in that area.

From here on I am sticking with the stock pipes, drop in K&N filter and the edge.

I was hoping it would still smoke and smell would still be there so I could have the injectors looked at and possibly replaced, but that doesn't look like it will happen.

I will drive it for a few weeks and see how she runs.

briano - you have to have the most finiky lly I have ever heard of.....I've done two different trucks now with 4" exhaust and no cat, and they ran great.....I wonder what gives with your truck???

I wish I knew.. I see tons of folks on here with the same upgrade and have no problems, yet mine smokes and stinks up the place.

I wouldn't ever take my aftermarket exaust off, not only does it sound better but it looks 100% better with a big ole pipe in back compared to that little 3 1/2 inch stock exaust.

I miss mine already..I got so many compliments on my "big pipe" LOL
