Anybody having trouble with the fuel gauge rising very very slow when fueling up when it's a little cooler out?? This didn't start until it cooled down this fall. I was down to 1/4 tank tonight so put in a dose of Stanadyne Performance (I always use it) and began filling. The gauge wasn't even up to half when the tank was completely full. About 10 minutes for the gauge to get up to the full mark. Doesn't seem to get much slower the colder it gets, but I haven't been in any real cold yet. It was about 7 above when I filled it with P40 tonight.. Saturday at the same pump it was about 7 below and didn't seem much slower.

Mine does same thing. Shut engine off and re-start and then it sets to full right away.

They are all like that. Shut it off and re-start like Justified mentioned. I am pretty sure it is to prevent the guage from moving when you are going uphill or downhill or over rough roads.

Mine only does it when I fuel up with the motor running.

my friends Ford F-350 and my 05 all do the same thing. May be diesel related. I have never seen it to be a problem.

IIRC it mentions something about it in the manual too

There is a buffer to prevent sudden, rapid changes. If you turn the key off and restart, all will be fine.

Thanks to all. I guess I never fueled it with the engine running when it was warm out. Although I have filled it with the key in the run position (engine not running) and watched the gauge and range indicator rise. Just ping ping ping when it's warm out. Thanks again and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!!!!
