Ok quick one for you trans guru's, I have my allison apart installing a transgo and clutch packs. all is going well except for i was a little confused about the c-4 packs. I alligned all of the vent holes of the new clutches at the 12 o'clock position when installing. Is that all that was inportant there? The alto directions makee it sound like something needed to be aligned before removing the oe clutches.

You wanna make sure that you line up the lube hold with the sun gear spacer when you pull the back half of the tranny apart. You will see the lube hold in the top of the intermidiate shaft, you will wanna line that hole up with one of the open sections (non-spline section) of the sun gear spacer.
Also, make sure that you put all your torrington bearings back in the right way or you might be pulling your tranny back apart 1500 miles later and replacing a couple of $900 planetarys.

You will want to put that tinny little hole in the apply piston at the 12' o'clock position so the clutches and steels get the max lubrication by it. The apply piston is the round thingy that is in the case itself.

Make sure you line the steels up too!

ok thanks all.
its all back together now, i am just second guessing a bit, the c4 kit that i got had two thick steels and three thin steels. the directions said to install a thick then a fric then a thin followed by a fric... well then what? i installed a fric, thick, fric, thin, fric, thin, fric, thin, fric, thick, fric. not the greatest instructions from alto on this on in my opinion.
