I have just had an electrical glitch start happing, and I am hoping to get some ideas on what to do.

First off, I have a 2004 LB7 4X4 2500HD extended cab Chevy w/ Allison.

The problem...Starting yesterday, all the controls on the driver's door are dead. The door lock, window controls, mirror control, etc. Sometimes everything will work for a few seconds after start up, and then stop working.

How serious is this issue? Is there a relay? A circuit breaker? The computer?

I ask this, because to get the truck to the service dept, I will have to take a day off of work, drive about 90 miles one way. So if possible I would like to make sure that it isn't something smallish.

Thanks!

If it works fine sometimes, it's not a blown fuse.

If it's all the locks, the power windows, mirrors, etc, chances are it's not bad relays. The power door locks, power windows, mirrors all have seperate relays.

Most likely you're looking at a loose connection on the bottom of that switch block, or something's gone sour on that circuit board. Your best bet is to pull the door panel and check the connections first. If everything's fine and problems persist, check eBay for a replacement switch assm; they usually go for ~$40-50 max.
