Hello I need help
I have a 1994 chevy 2500 hd 6.5 diesel I just purchase this truck about two weeks ago I had no problem with it until sat i ran a few erands in the morning not far from home I notice that my pump on my snow plow was leaking so when I got home i tight the bolts down while I was doing that the truck was running it just start off and was able to restart it and again shut off. I drove to the gas station fill the tank and on my way home it shut off about 6 times one time it took a while before i could restart it. I have change the fuel filter , the fuel pump that is locate on the frame on the driver side and install diesel additive to the tank I started it up yesterday morning while changing my wipers and it shut off again . I took it to a garage to have them look at it and they ran it for 3 + hours never shut off it was cold here today I don't know if that was a problem I have read alot about the pmd/fsd module that could be wrong Do you think I should change the module out with a kit that i have seen that moves it away from the engine and if so do I need to remove the old one I have about 160,000 miles on the truck

Thanks

Could be the module but more likely the fuel supply is weak. Did you try opening the bleed on the filter while it's idleing? it should have fuel pressure and not die.

After I replace the fuel filter I ran the truck and open the valve on top of the filter and fuel came out

thanks

Then OPS is working at idle. I have had luck blowing compressed from the IP fuel inlet hose back to the lift pump connection, then from the LP back into the tank.
Change the air filter if dirty and wait to see if it will stall again.

I have a 96 2500 with 157000 miles on it and had the same exact problem you are having. It will start and drive fine. But when in running errand mode, it will cut out, not start when hot, etc. I ordered the PMD relocation kit from Heith Diesel and installed it. Truck has been running like a champ ever since. You don't have to remove the old pmd to install this kit either so the intake can reman intact.

Check out this thread from beginning to end...it is my PMD story:

Ja, that sounds very much like PMD problems. Most PMDs seem to go without setting error codes, but mine came up with, afair, P1216 when the PMD failed. But yours might be different in that, I think a '94 has OBD-I, but mine is OBD-II.

If you need a new PMD, mounting it remotely is the way to go. You can even make a harness and a cooler for it yourselve.

Does anyone know where the diesel fuel pump/oil psi switch is located on the truck

In the valley of the ngine back behind the fuel filter. 3 wires going to it. you can jump it and make it pump by jumping the relay at the underhood fuse panel. Where are you located at precision lawn ???

No a '94 has it behind the driver's side head/valve cover coming out of a brass fitting at a 90* angle, they switched to the valley in '95.

I'm locate in Maryland
Today someone ask me if I change my air filter so I open the compartment up to see how dirt it was wow it look like a mouse had made a nest behind the filter and the fender so I replace it today. I drove the truck abot 15 mile and let it warm up about 40 min so I could take it down to have my snow plow frame mounted torromow I order a pmd/fsd module and it will be here torromow and i have the fuel/oil psi switch that i going to replace on thurday i hope this will solve my problem i want to say thanks to every one that has post on my problem and wish you all a happy xmas and new year

the new pmd/fsd should correct your problem. I had a 95 GMC Suburban with the 6.5TD and loved it. Now I have an 04.5 DMax 2500HD. I love this as well. Easier to work on.
