: 06 LBZ price
I'm looking at a 2006 Crew Cab long bed Duramax and Allison tranny with the LT3 package 4x4. It has 36000 miles on it and has a 6" CST lift, dual resevior shocks up front with 35x12.50x20 Toyo M/T tires. It also has the AFE intake and 4" turboback exhaust, and a spray in bedliner. It has never towed or been offroad. I offered $36,000, he said he would get back to me. What is a fair price for a truck like this with all the aftermarket stuff. NADA puts it at $34k stock. Thanks for any input.
saratoga 12-09-2007, 10:09 PM That's a lot of $$ for a used truck, but if it's what you're looking for- take it while you can. JMO.
mtofell 12-10-2007, 12:36 AM The price seems around the normal range.... I just picked up a similar truck with about 26K for about 36,000. Something I was antimate about while shopping is that I didn't want lift kits or any mods because it seems to greatly increase the odds that the truck has been driven hard, raced, etc. Also, there are warranty concerns. How do you know it's never been off road or towed? fwiw..... I think as far as nada or kbb value mods are really not worth much, if anything. So, if it's stuff you want it's kind of a bonus for you on the purchase price.
Coolbreeze 12-10-2007, 08:38 AM The aftermarket stuff actually decreases the value of it. That is what a dealer would say because the lift will stress other parts in the front end and cause them to wear quicker. Strictly speaking from a financial view point I would let that one go and get one closer to stock. If you want to mod it then do it your way which might be the better way and certainly you are more in control.
For a comparison I bought my truck brand new from the dealer for $36.6K .
I would not allow extra money for the mods, no dealer would give him extra. On the other hand if you want a lift and all the other things you could add alittle and get the stuff a lot less than you would pay for it. Also, have the truck looked over by a person who knows about lifts and installing them before you buy.
Plasticman 12-10-2007, 11:59 AM X2 on having someone look the truck over. If the truck is built exactly the way you want it, go for it, if not, you will wish you waited.
RideRed1 12-10-2007, 02:26 PM I agree with above, if its lifted and all how you would want it, wouldnt be a bad buy. Mods DO add value, just to the right buyer.
auwing 12-10-2007, 05:11 PM Tell the dealer all that aftermarket stuff is personal preference and adds no value to the truck. I'm sure that what they said when they tool it in on trade.
drdave 12-11-2007, 01:15 AM If someone wanted to buy my 06 LBZ, i'd tell them a MILLION BUCKS!
BTW is it a 1/2. 3/4 or 1 ton? I think 36K is a bit high, I think that was a "new" price range back then, if negotiated correctly.
That aftemarket stuff tends to have a "pride" value the the Seller see's, not the buyer.
I would not believe it has not been off road, it's a truck not a Pretty Prius, Preemie, what-ever....

I highly doubt its a 1/2 ton..He says it has a Duramax.
Is it a private seller or a dealer, If the truck is in excellent shape it is worth 36k. Yes that is high retail but look at the price of a new one equiped the same way.

I know plenty of big a$$ trucks with lifts/MT tires and all that fancy wanna be offroad crap stuck all over them and they never leave the pavement, I know I used to have one. You can save a lot buying a truck that was complete. But if its not the setup you want you'll likely change it anyways so just be sure. But for 36 I'd say its worth it. I see llys still selling for that much quite often.
badbowtie169 12-11-2007, 11:24 AM i payed $30,000 for my '06 cc/sb 4x4 lbz bone stock. it had 26,000 miles on it when i bought it, but it was as clean as a new truck. ive also heard of older trucks going for way more than mine. if you like the truck go for it after having it looked over to make sure nothing hidden is wrong with it.
Well thanks to the advise of many on here I bought the truck and will be picking it up on Thurs. I felt the price was fair and even if I paid 33-35k for a stock truck I couldn't do all the aftermarket stuff it has for a couple grand so I did it. I'm a new Duramax owner who is coming over from the FORD side. I had a 2004 F-250 6.0 diesel that was a LEMON and they bought it back. Can't wait to pick it up!!! I'll post pics when I get it. Thanks for all the replies.

badbowtie169 12-11-2007, 10:40 PM well youve finally seen the light and bought a chevy :)
hope you like the truck it should treat you right, i love mine
ar077 12-12-2007, 09:36 AM Edmunds.com will spit out the fair market price for your location (factoring in condition, miles, etc.) for any vehicle, new or used. It's what I used to negotiate with the dealer when I ordered my truck.
