Just finished wireing up and installing my 9'2" Power V from Boss. had it all hooked up right, had the plow working, then flipped the switch to plow lights, and had both, highbeam and lowbeam. i didnt care much and was gonna run with it till we heard from boss. But then i flipped the switch to truck, and had no headlights, only running lights and fogs. flipped the switch back to plow, same thing. no idea... so we just unhooked the wires connecting the truck lights to the plow lights, and just running the truck lights. Any idea as to why? the same thing happened to my dads truck and plow. same truck and same plow. idk?
Thanks in advance to anyone with any information on this or a fix.

A guess here . Do you have the( all on light )modification .

Sounds like you tapped a line 2times. If highs and lows are coming on Id think that you tapped the plow lights (high/low) into the low or high beams on the truck.
My other question could be that maybe you tapped a line for the DRL's
Id pull the DRL fuse on the truck and see what happens then
What happens to the plow lights when you flick from Hi-Low beam?

Just had this problem when I installed the plow on the 06'. I was so mad it took me 2 days to figure out what was wrong.
Bad ground.
Take the small brown wire (14 gauge w/eyelet) and connect it directly to the negative on the battery. Alot of installers will connect it to the ground area on the motor, but for some reason it's not a good enough ground on the 05,06 & 07' classic Diesels.
Now on the 02' it's grounded to the motor and works fine, same with an 06' gas truck I just did last week.

If your headlight adapters were plugged in wrong, you would blow fuses.

All wires have been tapped once, and im sure it was the running lights and turn signal wires not DRLs

Hmm i wish it was that simple, but we already have the ground right to the negative on the battery. Thanks though

Try posting this question here.

http://www.plowsite.com/

I wish I could help you out, but I am not knowledgeable in Boss plows, I only now Westerns. There are people on Plowsite who have most likley had this problem and can you can find how they remedied the situation.

Plowsite is set up just like Diesel Place, so go in look around and find the section dedacated to Boss plows, there is where you will find your answers.

Did you get the email where you have to click to verify your account?

Before you post a new thread there just search in the boss forum a bit, I'm sure its been covered already at some point.

I just had a problem the other day with my Boss plow lights not working correctly. It turned out that I had a bad connection from the positive side of the battery caused by a slight amount of corrosion. I'd check both connections to make sure.

Yea i figured out the plow site, got a few replys about it there, thanks again.

I already checked all my connections and my battery has no corrosion thanks for the tip
