I have been using Stanadyne Performance for a couple of months. I bought the 5 gal. drum and transfer it to plastic water bottles to carry with me. It got about -5 degrees over the weekend. The Stanadyne I had in the garage is frozen. It won't pour at all. Should I be using this stuff in my tank during the winter ?

Yes. Just store it someplace above freezing. The standyne by itself will freeze but when added to your fuel and mixed it is fine. I've been running it for four years with no problem.

It might taste a little flat since it's been frozen but should be o.k. ):h

On the back of the bottle it says keep above freezing...;) but after all these years I have never had a problem just keep it in the cab with me. Never leave home without it. ):h Makes no sense to me either...but it works great!!

Pete, my buddy was getting it for me from Diesel Don in NY, great wealth of knowledge!! I also found a place through this forum in PA called http://www.blueridgediesel.com/specials1.htm
I just spoke with Stanadyne in Windsor CT, Laura recommended a place in Agawam, MA called Metro Fuel Injection. Website is www.mwfi.com (http://www.mwfi.com) It comes from IL but the guys are local to Western MA. Prices were awesome at 3.99 a pint when bought by the case, and 14.25 a 1/2 gal when bought by the case. I like it because no shipping charges and close to pick up. Their phone number is 413.789.6600 ask for Buddy or Steve. Buddy is who I spoke to. I am going down later this week since I am almost out!! ):h .

It freezes?
Oh boy... I should probably take the cases of the stuff I have and move it into the house then. I haven't had my heater on in the garage yet this year.

Maybe some of you stanadyne users could help me make a decision. Emulsifiers in other additives to carry water through -vs- demulsifers to drop water and hope filter catches it. What about where the fuel is treated in the tank, would it be collecting there ?
Ive read the threads and both sides got me on a fence.

Went to add Standyne to tank, after many days of O Freakin Cold weather..... Jug had gelled on me. Little thicker than hair gel. Put jug infront of exhaust outlet to thaw out a bit.
Ended up squeezing some out of the jug.
And its supposed to prevent gelling in fuel lines, etc... :(
