I just put some Trailcutter MT's on my stock wheels for the winter. I'm happy with them in the snow so far. Just as good traction as my BFG A/T's had last winter.

The Nokians are quite pricey..so if you don't want to spend a lot but get a decent snow tire check out the Cooper M+S. Also, if you don't tow anything in the winter there's a tire called Wintermaster (don't know who makes them) and it's a 2 ply but I know you can get it in a 265. A guy I know that plows snow for a living and runs them and says they're by far the best snow tires he's ran...and he's ran as lot. Also, they are cheap..he got them for about $400 new. The Cooper M+S run around $550 mounted and balanced from my tire guy.

I'd 2nd that Cooper M+S, It's what I have on our plow truck, and they work really well.

I thought I read somewhere cooper had a deal with nokian, so there might be some technology sharing there. I don't remember where I read that but may be something to look at if the nokian prices are a bit much. I had all season nokian WR suv's on a volvo and they were awesome in the snow. If there truck tires are as good they would be great.

Cooper Mud and Snow's are what I use for plowing. I buy them studded and they are the best snow tires I've used, and I've had them all. There also cheaper than the others. I like the 238/85's better than the 265's.

I did get some prices on the Cooper's and around here they were less expensive than the Nokian's but not by too much. I read lots of good things about the Nokians.

Blizzak's were my second choice but I didn't like all the fast wear reports. Since I trailer during the winter I wanted something that would last longer.

Specialized winter tires are going to wear faster on dry pavement......that's a given.

Yep. I only use the truck towing the toys in the winter so I hope to get 3 or 4 winters out of them. We'll see.

I put them on as late in the season as possible, and take them off as early as I dare...........if you know what I mean...........it's a crap shoot in the Buffido area.

Sure do. They go on end of next week. Off after we take our last snowmobile trip in March. Don't need them down here in CT but the roads up northern Vt and NH can be a handfull sometimes.

cooper m/s for me, and remember narrow tires are better in snow by far! I've plowed snow for years and learned the hard way.

Nokian Hakkapelitta's studded are the best IMO. I will running 265's on my 3500 SRW rims as soon as what I have wears a bit more.

I just put a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 265/75/16E on my truck on Saturday and headed up to the hunting shack. I was very impressed with the grip. I was pushing through 12" of snow with a layer of ice underneath and they performed better than expected.

I like my Green Diamonds. Just make sure you break them in before the snow hits.

I have Dunlop Rover RVXT's and they have one of the highest snow ratings out there. They are quiet on the highway. You just have to make sure you get a set that will balance out as they had some production problems in certain sizes I was told.
