i had the superchips, and the van aaken stacked good power. i took the superchips off i have ran it for about a year now, i wanted to compare the van aaken to the superchip.
this is comparing both chips at full power i think the superchip is rated at 85hp and the van aaken is 90 ? i could be wrong though

i was very displeased with the van aaken box.
my truck would randomly die with it installed
the engine noise was terribly loud and it was a very worrying sound reminded me of spark knock x's 3
it felt comparable to the power level of the superchips on tow-safe mode.


does anyone else run the van aaken ? if so post your thoughts it makes me wonder if there is something wrong with my box ?

I ran the van aaken on my truck for like 20k miles and i had zero problems. There is definately something wrong with yours because mine felt like a stock truck with an extra 120hp. Smooth shifts usually, not much timing rattle or knock at all, and never ever died.

The VA tunes have always been very nice tunes. I run a 230 daily.
Check all the pins in the plugs. Sometimes they get pushed in.

i ran a small road trip last night (about 300 miles) it was down 2 lane roads so there was alot of WOT passing cars. i turned the van aaken down to the lowest setting (70 hp?) there is absolutely no smoke, and at wot i only build about 20-21lbs of boost, i can reach higher with stock settings, although it was a significant amount faster than stock.

and the random dying :eek:

im going to contact van aaken and see what they recommend.

**i am in no way trying to give a negative outlook on van aaken. figured i would add that so in 3 years when someone searches and digs this post up they dont not-buy a van aaken product because of me :D :D
