: GM gets trumped again...
I like GM but they have peed me off over the last decade by always seeming to get to market, too little, too late.
Here they go again.... GM promised a hybrid truck.... coming soon. Only in a gassser..... was supposed to be 15% mileage improvement now down to 10%... where are these vehicles?
Dodge is now producing..... in a Cummins.
GMC2500HD 12-19-2004, 09:35 AM Dodge still sucks Censored . No matter what they do -:t ... Enough said..
GM might a little late sometimes, but perfection is time well wasted...
Mackin 12-19-2004, 09:44 AM Perhaps GM looks more into the market share versus investment. In todays economy the wrong move can be disastrous.
How much market is there for such a rolling Generator, drive to work with a toaster and coffee maker on the passenger seat? :D
Man you guys are tough.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif

What's the soup of the day Hoot? :D
Got Juice? 12-19-2004, 09:52 AM Being that it is a Dodge, maybe the plug ins are for the 'Alternative Breeding Crowd'
Some guys are sooo fussy about too much hair around the SHEEP!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
or should I say
Baaaa
Baaaa
Baaaa
I'm pretty reserved with the horn. It doesn't draw friendships if you overdo it.
Having the generator on board is only a icing on the cake. Instead of 20 mpg on the highway you should be seeing 23+ and definately better city mileage. Also should add to the lifespan of the Cummins since some load is removed.
Add that to a Power Wagon package and you would have one heck of a machine.
You guys laugh about girlie image... cracks me up with the reputation GM trucks have. Ohhhhhhhhhhhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Why would you want to reduce the load on a Cummins? The quicker you get Er' wore out and you can get your A$$ off the seat of that Dodge, the better
:D

GM beat Dodge to four wheel steering....... anybody have one?
Max Power 12-19-2004, 12:10 PM Dodge beat their trucks with an ugly stick.
Got Juice? 12-19-2004, 12:12 PM Dodge beat their trucks with an ugly stick.
Worse yet, it was the same stick they used to beat the avalanche):h and the Aztec):h
TheBac 12-19-2004, 12:26 PM Worse yet, it was the same stick they used to beat the avalanche):h and the Aztec):h :eek:Av without cladding is allright. Aztec wouldn't look good even if you drove it down the road backwards.
Chrysler beat GM to the VVT turbo setup, only to drop it when it didn't work right. Think they knew something?
I now drive a Cummins powered UPS truck. At 219,000 miles, its the biggest dog I've ever driven. -:t Doesn't even have the power to overcome a slight headwind or a hill! -:t If you want a smoking, stinky, smelly, loud, sooty old style diesel, go Cummins.....-:t
If you want a decent engine in a decent truck, go Duramax.
More kindling on the fire, boys.....):h
Tom
GM is winning the ugly design contest overall without question.

Actually I think you mean Chevy. The GMC is the best looking truck on the road hands down.

DODGE BOY 12-19-2004, 08:20 PM Nice pics Hoot:ro) Everybody are waiting for that good utility truck
Micheal Tomac 12-19-2004, 08:44 PM Just saw a commercial for a local dodge dealer that is advertising a free moped with every truck purchase. WTF it's December and it's in the teens outside.

):h ):h ):h I just saw that part of the post. Guess I skipped over it.):h ):h ):h
9W3-HD 12-20-2004, 11:06 AM It makes me laugh everytime I see a dodge going down the road with those big ugly mirrors sticking out, is it that hard to retract them when your not pullin? You have to get a hand crank out or something?

I like them out as far as they can go so. No problem passing GM trucks.... they pass over top of the GM mirrors ):h
Over the years I see guys installing the huge bigger Cipa DUMBO mirrors on the GM trucks.... wishing they had mirrors like the awesome Dodge trailering mirrors ;)
The mirror itself does fold inwards 90 degrees but it doesn't make a huge difference in clearance.
Personally I like the obnoxous look. I get an aweful lot of postive comments about them and the truck. Bottom line..... "I" like the way it looks.
Burner 12-20-2004, 12:11 PM GM has tried this. I think it was almost three years ago. They had two 110 outlets on the passenger side of the truck just behind the cab. I don't know why they dropped the Idea? I think it was about the same time as the beginning of the plastic bed.
I would really like to have the option.

GM is trying it now. It's supposed to be available either this year or th e06 model but in the gas versions only. That's what's cool bout this is it's available in the diesel.
Burner 12-20-2004, 01:16 PM Is that really a valid option on a Dodge? Where exactly are the plugs located?
DGFoster 12-20-2004, 01:17 PM Wow,the jealiousy just keeps getting deeper with you DMAX fellas, now you are upset cause we have better mirrors too.
SteveNorCal 12-20-2004, 01:57 PM Just saw a commercial for a local dodge dealer that is advertising a free moped with every truck purchase. WTF it's December and it's in the teens outside.
Hey!!! They have to do something to get people to buy a D@dge (D@dge).....):h
(Ok, I'll go back to the Dmax forum now.)
9W3-HD 12-20-2004, 02:08 PM Better mirrors??? Keep telling yourself that.
DGFoster 12-20-2004, 02:20 PM Better mirrors??? Keep telling yourself that.
Just go order your new injectors, cause your gonna need em):h):h):h
Semi-crazy 12-20-2004, 03:08 PM The GMC hybrid is only available with the 5.3L Gas, but the system is almost the same as Dodge. The truck I believe is only available to government agencys until next year?
Here is the link to GM hybrids, click on the vehicle you want more info about. I have been reading articles about the buses since those are supposed to be big fuel savers. But, mild hybrids save the most in stop and go situations and regenative braking energy storage. The do help with high load acceleration, but on the highway it is not going to do much, which the Cummins will be used a lot in towing. So, while I like this feature on the Cummins, I do not see as much benefit for fuel economy as a V8 gas, maybe it is more of an emissions on accel thing for the Cummins?

No not "better"....... MUCH better!

AMEN):h):h
Got Juice? 12-20-2004, 06:25 PM You guys are so FOS!...lol
FORD has the best mirrors no doubt there.
Too bad you have to throw the other 37K worth of parts in the GARBAGE....hahahaha
Yea but the Dodge mirrors are a close second to the SD mirrors. In some ways they are better. My mirrors fold down but don't have the turn signal lights in them.
They are heated and when you fold them the power controls still work without changing the tilt from up-down to in-out
DGFoster 12-20-2004, 08:09 PM I have had the SD mirrors and they are not better than the Dodge..
gelecon 12-20-2004, 08:31 PM Put the Cummins engine, Allison transmission, GMC interior with a few dodge conviences, full crew cab, Dodge suspension, Dodge ride height, Dodge or Ford wheel well clearance, and Ford towing mirrors you might have something worth buying. Until then we are stuck with whats available!
Mackin 12-20-2004, 08:35 PM From 110 electrical outlets to Mirrors, going no where but bad soon
