I drove up to the mountain and back monday and tuesday in this 20 inch snow storm we just had. This is my first winter with the dmax, and i was very impressed to see mpg avg of 16.0mpg in 4x4 both up and back. A trip to the mountain is 140mi round trip. I was making about 35-45mph. The old gasser needed fuel before making it back home when running to the mountain in 4x4, so i'm very impressed i could do 2+ round trips on one tank.
On a different note, my outside temp readout, on rear view mirror, was 'rebooting' the whole way up to the mtn. It would flash all lights in the screen, then "ICE", then temp and repeat that whole process. It seemed like it stopped flashing when i slowed down to 30 or so going through towns, but maybe that was a coincidence. Dose the truck sense slip and try to get my attn by flashing the rear view mirror at me? It only flashed on the way up on the 1st day. Beats me, but its not doing it anymore, so i guess its fine.
Overall a good trip, with some nice deep pow at sugarloaf!

I haven't seen that happen on mine, and now I put the radiator cover on the front and the friggin temp gauge reads 65 degrees after running awhile. Gotta see if I can relocate the sensor............

I came up from rockland to bangor in that crap and got 18 mpg in 4x4. I was very impressed. The only reason it was better than yours is due to the your change in elevation.

I've also noticed my temp gauge is inaccurate since I put on the winter cover. However, mine has only been reading about 5-10 or so degrees high. This morning I started the truck and it was reading 17f. 5 minutes later it was reading 26f. A little annoyinng, but still very impressed with the truck and the mileage i've been seeing.

Kennedydiesel.com has a tutorial about relocating the sensor.
