I can't seem to find much discussion about motor build up other than programmers for the most part. I have a set of Nathan's twins and am looking to build up the motor a bit. I have heard good results with his setup but then again not a day goes by that I don't hit WOT at least once. Can someone either suggest some parts or a place to look other than the search button to look for this kind of info? Tia

I'd be happy to help.

Tell me more about what your goals are for your truck and we can build from there.

Or give me a call and we can chat.

Just the person I was looking for lol. I'm right at my power goal, or will be with another CP3 pump. I am looking for a kit to upgrade all the internals to make the motor as bullet proof as possible within reason, reason being about 5k in parts or so at the moment. I did the twin install, how much more difficult is a rod/stud/spring install? At what point to I have to pull the motor?

Oh, I just reread your post about goals. I don't want a drag truck, it'll maybe see the track a few times a year for the heck of it or a bet. :) My goal is 600-700 hp with a hot street tune that will also tow a huge load. I pull a 53' car hauler with living quarters which was the reason for the MPI twin install in the first place. My girl was trying a bit to hard up the hills for my taste. I do smack the throttle at least daily so a moderate buildup is in order to keep my motor in one piece, especially hauling for hundreds of miles at a time with twin boost.

I'm no expert, but Diesel Power magazine Dec. had a 650hp rwhp build up. Other than the bolt on items, the only thing they built up was the trany.

It is pretty easy to get 650 RWHP on a stock motor, but I won't last that long. The rods and springs are for longevity, and Pistons too. Our truck is set up virtually like Joe's 650 RWHP truck, and it made 618 on the dyno.

Dieselson, How much did that cost?

Well, yes and no. The motor wont get the fuel to really blow stuff up for the most part without another CP3. I have decided to get a core and start building the 7.1 from SoCal. Theres no point to tear it that far apart and not go nuts.

Total, we didn't do it up front, basically about $14k
