I was driving today and rolled on the gas and slowed down to get on the Hwy and my truck would not rev over 2000 rpm. I had no lights on or anything, Called onstar for dianostics and they had nothing for me. This happened once and I pulled over and shut the truck, waited a few and was good to go. Today no such luck. Glad I had my trusty leatherman because I had to diconnect the batteries and I was good to go. If this happens to the wife I am pretty sure that I won't here the end it. Since I spent the kids college money on all the hop ups. Please help!

There is a "safe mode" that happens when certain codes set on an LLY. A P1093 and a P1299 come to mind. These codes can set and not immediately turn on the MIL. When you disconnect the batteries you are resetting the PCM. Onstar will only tell codes that have set the MIL, I believe. There should still be codes stored in the PCM.

Try getting the reflash done. Some have said that helps.

I have had the the reflash done. Is there a way to reset without disconnecting the batteries.

Shut it off for a minute or so and usually it will go back to normal.

Like Max said, just shut it off for a minute and it will clear. The reflash did not help me as it happened SEVERAL times at the track. After every run I would have to shut the truck off for a minute so I could clear it. Has happened with all modules now except the Predator. Might be a coincidence though.

Could be a fuel filter due to be changed. The 04.5 and newer trucks now moniter fuel pressure. Also you may have to restart the truck up to 10 times to clear certain codes, without unhooking the batteries. Also be sure to have the door open. The system tends to have a power feed back from the Radio and power windows staying on after you shut the key off. There seams to be several things that will put the truck in limp home mode without putting on the check engine light. Not sure what GM was thinking about there.
