I have a 01 HD 6.6 w/ an Ally. I installed pane on it just about the first thing. At that time this was biggest bang for the buck. Question does anyone out there know how much of an increase can be make before there would be predetonation which we all know would make quite a mess. I assume you would use a mag. set at inches of water column at a certin turbo pressue e.g. 2,3,4, or 5lbs. But I have no idea what the inches adjustment would be. All I have done so far is to lighten the amount of pressure required to open the valve.
Any help would be great as the addition kick would be a kick:D
Thk's in advance.

Sorry about that; it's a Power Shot 2000 - boost
activated w/ a hobbs switch.

There should be a rubber nipple at the top of the hobbs, it will pull out like a plug and then it will expose something you can turn... its different on all them. Normally a hex deal. I THINK turning the screw counter clockwise will turn on with less boost

A Powershot 2000 does not use a Hobbs switch but it does have an on/off and a rearm switch.

If you have lightened up the tension on the spring, you have in effect increased the overall amount of propane, because you have lowered the onset of the propane flow from around a 5psi threshold to around 2 or 3psi. That means now for example you will be using the same amount of propane at 12 psi as you previously did at 15psi and at 15psi you will be using the same amount you previously did at 12 and all the way to your maximum boost. That is the start time adjustment.

The flow adjustment will in increase the amount of propane getting through the orifice inside the valve throughout the boost psi range. Simply put, by turning the flow screw in, towards the minus (-) sign, you close the size of the orifice or jet that the propane flows through. By turning it out, towards the plus (+) sign you open the size of the orifice to it's maximum. It is about 6 full turns from a closed position, but that is using a great deal of propane.

If you have used it all these years satisfactorily it's set pretty good, so just a slight upwards adjustment should be all you need to increase the power noticeably and safely. You may also see your mileage increase as a bonus! If you hear any signs of rattling at higher boosts, or when you romp it, turn the flow back. Do the adjustments in 1/4 turn increments.

If you have an original gold Powershot, the jet inside is fixed, so the flow can't be increased, other than by changing the start time.

Hope this helps!:)
