Well being that it has been around -5F (~ -20C) up here in the great white north the other day when I was pluggin in my block heater I noticed something new on my driveway... a puddle of tranny fluid. Quick inspection.. since it's colder than a witches teet.. revealed a leak coming from the tranny line up front by the rad. Couldn't exactly see where it was leaking but it was leaking. Tried to check the fluid level (and in a previous post I expressed frustration with this) everytime I pull that damn trans dipstick I get a different reading. Anyone else have this problem? It seems to me like it drags somewhere on the way out and smears the reading. Tried both warm and cold with little luck. Best guess is I was significantly low (which worries the heck out of me). Don't know how long it's been like this and I hope no damage was done to the Ally. Tranny temps have been in the normal range recently so should I be concerned? Minimal driving... took to the dealer and 3hrs later I have 2 new tranny lines.

I like to take 3 to 5 dipstick readings and look at both sides of the stick. Whichever side reads the lowest is your reference point. The higher reading will be splash.

I had new lines installed last winter, and they are leaking again. 2-3 drops every time I warm it up. My dealer can't fit me in at all even after I gave them a sob story about how it's leaking and I need the truck for work. I am calling a different dealer tommorow to try and get this fixed under warranty.
Is anyone making aftermarket tranny lines for our trucks? Thanks.

What did the new lines cost? I'm having the same problem but mine ended up blowing apart.

My lines were covered by warranty. Turns out I can get my truck into my usual dealer on the 17th, they are doing all of the tranny lines again. Wish me luck.
