I have a remote starter in my truck, the past few days have been cold maybe in the 20's overnight. When I push the remote start button the lights come on like normal, but the truck doesn't start. When I start it with the ignition, it turns over slow and fires up then clacks loud for a little bit till it warms up a little. Do I need batteries??? I did notice when the guy put in my remote start he had to adjust a box to the voltage the truck see on start up, maybe this is the reason????

how slow does it turn over? you can pull the batteries one at a time and load test them. that will tell you if there bad. i just had to replace both of mine last week
as far as the low voltage on the RS are you sure that is what the tech was adjusting? what make of rs do you have?

could it be that it is not waiting for the glow plugs to warm up first? therefor making starting harder and longer? i think that if the motor turns for a certain period of time, and does not start, it stops trying to start it, rather than draining the bateries with repeted crank/no starts.

it could be. some RS units are delayed 10-15 seconds for glow plugs and others watch for the glow plug light. depends on what make you have
