I know many of you guys are running the 6" RCD lift w/ 35" tires, as I am. I am noticing a lot of paint chips on the lower section of my front doors due to the front tires sticking out past the fender flares. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and have you found anything to prevent this from happening? Thanks, Bob

Took mine to the local tint shop and had them run 3m stone guard all along the bottom half of the truck right below the trim line,Its clear transparent and cant even see it.A little expensive (650.00), but cheaper than a new paint job.I have 5600 miles on and not one chip running a 8 inc fabtech with 37s, Or you could put the stainless rocker guards on if you like the looks , its alot cheaper. Also have genuine steel tube step bars witch might help abit. Ryan

I love my truck as many do on this forum, but fact is the paint on these trucks just suck. My 265's have caused many chips even with guards. The above idea is probably one of the best methods......myself, I just use a lot of touch up and Lanka.

I did line-x on my lower rear quarter panels on my white 6.0L gas truck--worked really good. On my Dmax--I think I will do the same but go a bit higher.
It also sounds cheaper to do line-x--the basic cost was 400.00 for the bed and over the rail.
I paid 675 for the rear quarter addition--the rear wheel well(s) and that annoying strip of paint from the front to rear door that faces the ground--good place for rust to start if unprotected.
now if i could line-x the damn front part of the hood--many chips there.

I just put my GM mudflaps out as far as I could, plus I put stainless rocker panels on they run about $120 bucks, seems to work fairly well. The idea of using the clear rock gaurd is a good one, Ive been thinking about putting some on the front side of my back fender flares to prevent chips coming off the front tires. That stuff is pricy though.

I know a lot of guys don't like mudflaps (looks wise) but they solved my problem completely (Duraflaps).
