No wait to start light could indicate a problem with glo plug controller .

Check the fuses? Simple stuff first...

I jumped ahead to glo controller as SES lite is working & is on same fuse as wait to start lite .Agree that fuses should be checked in any case .

On a 96 6.5 I had the same problem once....just driving down the road and it died....would turn over plenty fast but not fire. Found a burnt fuse, replaced, and all was fine until a few days later....happened again. Truck was under warranty and dealer found a wire rubbing on back of the engine.....problem solved.

Double check those grounds........their famous for no "wait to start" light.

Hopefully it's something simple like grounds or a fuse but it could be your FSD. I put a new one on the manifold in Jan. of 07 and it lasted till May with 5000 km on it. Not good considering it was winter in Canada. It's now in the bumper and hoping for better luck this time. Leo

Thanks for the input from all. After reading some other posts about similar symptoms I polished up all my grounds and sure enough the old rig came back to life. Going to have to add that to my list of regular maintenance events.

While you are in fixing things mode you need to get that driver out of the engine bay
