I've had issues with my truck not going strong in the sand. I know it's heavy, I let the tires down to 30 psi., but sometimes in the soft stuff it just sits there like I'm going to get stuck. I haven't yet, but I was use to just driving on the beach and off with no mods with my old truck. I've got aux. fan on trans., edge, extra air tank, 8000lb. winch.

Let more air out, try 15-20psi

12-15 psi and you can go where ever you desire. the more your tires "squish" out the better foot print and more floatation you get

I always went to 12psi on my factory tires and when I got 285's with my truck and it performed well. Also depends on the sand where you are. The crossings are always super soft here, but I don't have to think about it with only 12psi.

I run mine at 20. Any lower and you may throw your tires off the bead depending on what tires you have. I would recommend that you bring a jack, pump and tire iron and strap if you want to go lower than 20.

I go down to 15psi on the truck and the trailer (the lower the better), and keep the speed. And I can go anywhere.

I haven't had a problem...yet. I run mine between 12 and 15psi for the past 6 years.

I could see you throwin a tire if your doin doughnuts and rompin hard but not just out drivin around. Beadlocks are awesome though!! drop them suckers to 6psi an never worry about losin a tire (in sand)

16k+ 5er empty ...

37x13.50x22 Toyo muds

13-15psi

stay on the turbo and your good.

I have watched tons of trucks come in way to hard and need to back off and then when they want the power she is gone, no turbo boost.

Those of you who run below 20 PSI, are you use using E load range tires? I've gone down to 25 PSI on my E range tires, and 15 PSI on my D load range tires on other trucks. I'm very interested to hear how well at E load range tire performs at that low of a PSI.

I would say it can very depending what tire you are talking about. ie brand and or AT vs. MT.

Thanks for all the info. guys. I always wondered about a heavy diesel, lots of power, and low tire pressure how it would act. Now I can stop carring extra air tanks, jacks, and the other 50 lbs. of emergency stuff. NEVER! Because I might need to help someone else. But I do feel better knowing this.

On my stock E rated and my Toyo E rated I run them this low and they do fine. I try to run them around 15psi.

I'll usually just lower the pressure in the rears to 20psi and that will get me out of most situations. With the big trailer in tow it will put the sidewall tread of my BFG A/Ts just about on the ground.

If your really worried about bringing extra crap to fix a broken bead, I strongly suggest bring a bucket of that tire soap stuff that they use at tire places for tractors had heavy trucks. I don't think it costs that much, and a bucket should last a lifetime. I think it has other uses as well.

Thanks for the replies regarding PSI on E-rated tires. There is so much new information everyday on this site and I'm spending a lot of time reading old threads, that I lost track of this thread.
