I changed the oil at 2500 miles and again at 7800 and now I have 9200 miles on it and the change engine oil message comes on at start up. I have never reset anything on the DIC, could this be why the message came on. The oil is Rotella T 5w-40 synthetic and the the truck is a 2007 LBZ. I tried a couple different searches and couldn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks, Randy

If you have steering wheel controls, you can press and hold the arrow button for several seconds when looking at the oil life monitor. If you don't have the buttons, the owners manual should help you out.

Thanks, the oil life said o% and I reset it and it now says 100%. Its my first diesel and I'm still getting used to it being more like a piece of equipment than a regular vehicle in terms of maintenance.
Thanks again, Randy

Those monitors are nice as reminders as long as they are reset. They are basically just a timer. They don't actually monitor oil condition.

If I read correctly, you just reset your OLM, but you have 1400 miles on your oil.

Presuming you have the DIC controls on your steering wheel, you might want to monitor the OLM % and change a little early the next time, to balance out the 1400 overage. Perhaps change at 30% this next time?

Thereafter, reset the OLM at each oil change.

All that information is in the manual.
