Just got HP Tuners and thought I would start by scannig the truck and doing some runs to see where I am at. The editor read the truck fine but the scanner is not functioning properly. Many of the PIDs for diesel show up as unsupported or are not there at all. Several paramters were also reading inccorectly (vane position stuck at 0, throttle stuck at 100% etc) It was reading rpm correctly. It also reads the LS1 camaro correctly just not my truck. Any ideas?

TIA

Lonnie

I will have to look at mine tonight again. I just removed the ones that were not supported ones & added in the new pid or sensors & it worked. I did have a couple that did not do anything, but many were up on my dashboard working. Did the MAP & RPM gauge ones work for you on the dashboard?

I had to go to a power plant in TX for business. I will not be able to check anything again until I return this weekend, let me know some of the params that are supported on your truck and I will check mine this weekend.

Thanks

For my dashboard gauges:

MAF, MAP, EGT, ECT, IAT, SPEED, RPM, FP DES PSI, TRAN OIL TMP, BF CYL1 THRU BF CYL8, & MAIN INJT. These all work on mine.

I have had a problem with the raw, vane pos des, fuel temp fp cme dc% to come up. These might just be my settings.

I know the chart display does show the voltage & the turbo vane position that the gauges do not show.

I need to put some more time into the histogram part, but the gauges are so nice to read & are so easy to customise.

you can get a guage to read the turbo vane postion and many other things but you first have to go back to one of the other areas and add it to a list to get it to support it I know this sounds way to generic bit I dont have my computer with my HP on it so i cant look at it to tell you what they were but the is a how to on this on their site that explains what to change so that the pids are supported so you can make guages for them. then you can save that seup for that vehicle, i have one for the dmax and one for the ls1 maro

We are looking for the dashboard to view the turbo vane pid's. The chart part reads it, but I want the gauge to show up on the dashboard. I will have to look at it again. You mean to just save a config file for pids? In the chart there is a spot for the extra gauges for IO. Some day I will hook up some cool gauges. The dashboard is just such a nice setup to use on the laptop.

I am now able to scan all the supported PIDs. I had to delete the operating system file and then re start and it is now working.

How exactly did you delete any files? Was this done through the editor or scanner? Reason I ask is that I currently am having the exact same problems that you described. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks.

I hate to bother you guys on this subject because it seems like it's something simple according to your posts. Is it possible to get a detailed process from someone just so I can finally get this situated. I was playing around with this all night last night and no luck yet. I also have a 2002 Z28 that I have used HPT with extensively and never had any problems. Now with this truck I haven't even been able to read my DTC's that the truck is throwing. I've had to hook up my P.P.E. handheld to read and clear codes. Thanks again guys for any assistance given.

O.K., I found the vehicles folder and deleted it. Then I restart the scanner and when I open the table or gauges display it scans for supported parameters. When it starts scanning it's right back to the same settings. Some PID's work, some don't. Please let me know what steps I'm missing or what I'm doing wrong, thanks.

You have to delete some of the pid that are not supported & then add differents one back in there place. It is really easy to delete & add. Just right click & then delete to delete. Or right click & then insert on the pid or sensor you want added.
