Diesel Place newbe here, great website!:ro)
Just wondering if anyone is running the Predator with the factory exhaust (3.5") and have EGT guages. What kind of temps are you getting with which settings?
I just purchased the Predator mainly to change tire sizes, but may be tempted to try out the 40 or 65 setting before I can install the EGT guage. I do not pull anything, but would like the piece of mind knowing someone else has been there done that without problems.
Thanks

Welcome to the site! You won't have any problems as long as you don't put the 120hp setting in. It will nuke your tranny.

I have used the 40 and 65HP settings without any problems. A blast to about 70mph gets me up to about 1200 deg F but crusing at that speed it drops to 625. So romping around on the lower settings I'm sure you'll be ok unless your going up a 15% grade that is a few miles long and you have your foot into the radiator.
I have not yet used the 85HP and I've hear that it might be marginal at limp the tranny. I plan to get 4 inch exhaust before spring (when I do start pulling a FW trailer).

Thanks for the responses from both of you. I just received the Predator, installed the 40 hp tune and took it for a spin. I did not even floor it, but all I can say is OH MY!):h Noticed moderate smoke about the time I shifted at about 2,000 RPM and noticably stronger pulling. The transmission should not be a problem (unless it falls out) since I have the ZF-6.
Thanks Again.

The ZF-6 is a differant animal...you might want to change the tittle of this thread or post another indicating that you have a handshaker and predator.
I ran my truck with the stock exhaust and the 120 tune for 5000 miles until it limped the Alli. I wouldn't recommend it with out gages (Predator runs hot)...but my truck is still running.
