So I finished installing my GT37 on the dmax today. I took it for a test drive and I was surprised at how quiet the turbo is compared to my stock IHI. That sucks... Im addicted to the turbo singing. Also-- I didnt notice a sudden power increase. Im guessing that the ECM is still learning that more air is coming in???? Im just looking to hear feedback.
Im running the quadzilla stealth box & yes I will eventually go to EFI. I have a open funnel filter & no silencer .. like I said - my IHI was A lot louder:mad: WTF?

LOL, an ECM is not going to learn anything...... It runs the way it is programmed to run. a GT37 isnt that much larger than a stock turbo. It performs more efficiently but if you wanted a noticeable increase in power why not go with a GT40? You will need to use EFI Live to utilize the additional airflow and command more fuel. You however arent going to see much of an hp gain. with a GT4088 on a single CP3 guys are seeing 520-530 hp. So you might see an additional 10-15 over the stock turbo. This is btw running a 500hp EFI Live tune. good luck.

dont get mad. he is telling the truth it wont learn anything. The 37 is mainly to lower egt's for towing you wont notice much if any power gain. sorry but thats how it is. if you wanted more power you should have went with a 4088 or 4094 maybe.

They speak the truth. The ECM Will only operate inside the parameters it was programmed to operate in. If your truck was smoking at full load prior to this charger you may notice an increase, but i doubt you will, its hardly larger than stock.

Why would an ECM learn something new? The Allison TCM has a feature somewhat similar to the idea you are talking about. You need a custom tune that fits the mods you have this is only obtainable with the use of EFI Live.

some guys mentioned this back when you were posting how you were really interested in the GT37. ;) :)

Its basically the same size as the stock turbo. You will see lower EGT's and thats about it. Not worth the $$ IMHO... :(

oh yea-- well things have changed-- I flashed the predator back to the Dmax on the 85 hp setting and its a different truck now. Its night & day vs the quad box. I have a new respect for the 37 now. I cant wait to load the 120 hp setting now.. I just didnt want to spend a lot of $$$-- I paid 1800 for my GT kit and Im happy about that now. :p: EFI live is on the way soon. 500 hp will be enough for me.
