Anyone running 6-gun w/ speed loader have a problem putting the truck into limp mode when running hard on level six. I have done this twice in the last two days, "service engine" lite comes on and stays on. Dealer cleared code yesterday and said computer showed #3 cylinder misfire. Just started doing this after adding AFE II system, no problem with stock box prior.

Never had it happen, and I've done some hard driving with it. Maybe something else is wrong? I didn't even think the banks was "big" enough to limp the tranny. Do you have the transmission wires hooked up on it?

Never heard of it with the 6-Gun. I don't even think it's possible. Cylinder misfire-your problem could lie someplace else. What codes do our trucks throw when it does limp the tranny? I wouldn't think that would be one of them.

This is not an Emergency and should be placed in the Power and Performance section... This Emergency Section of the forum is going to get abused and then Nick will shut it down. Please be careful what you post here...

I ran a six gun with speedloader on my duramax, with torque converter wires hooked up and factory waste gate actuator left installed for 20,000 miles with no problems. Only trouble I have had was transmission locked into gear (limp mode) due to a high range shift selector failing outside of the transmission. Gear shift indicator light starts to malfunction. It shows reverse, and second i believe and not park, neutral etc.

Have the dealer check the injector silnoid harness it will cause a miss fire and limp.if the control circuit goes down. Patrick

Limped the tranny many times with the gun and loader. New version.

I didn't think it was possible. There are wires directly connected to the TCM. The 6-Gun allows only 3% of slip before it intervens, cutting the power. What is the actual amount of slip the transmission allows before it goes into limp mode? Maybe PeterT will chime in.
the way i figure it, if you really are slipping the tranny bad, it will be too late for the banks to react, i never limped mine with the banks until i limped it with the quad then I put it into limp mode with the banks alone setting the SES light and code 7032 or 7034 then I limped it completly stock. My c1 clutchs were shot every thing else was fine, I was limping mine in first gear I believe this was from too many boosted launches so if your easy on the launches I think the banks slip detection is more than capable of protecting the tranny and stopping the truck from going into limp mode.

even with trans protection box, the trans has to slip before the box knows about it and by the time the box knows it, its already done. Do that a few times and the trans is cooked.

Guess I'll try not to do any more full throttle blasts on level 5 or 6 unless I "need" to.
