Question about how the turbo works. My understanding is that the exhaust gasses pass an impeller on one side of the turbo spinning it. on the other side of the shaft is another impeller that forces clean air into the intake. The two sides are seperate. I guy at work keeps trying to tell me that the turbo forces exhaust gas into the intake.

This subject came up while we were talking about disableing the EGR. That's when he tried to tell me to not waste my time since the turbo is forcing exhaust gas into the intake anyway.

If I am wrong it would be nice to know.
