Just installed this kit but the hose is too short from the air box to the turbo. I can make it barely reach but then it rubs on the Bosch module next to the alternator. Anyone else with a LLY having this problem. I tried fudging the couplings but that did not work, put the couplings on first, nada, put on air box, nada, put on turbo first nada. I was alittle pissed to say the least. When I spoke to them they were very nice about it and said the new pipes are going to have a notch so they do not rub on the bocsh unit. So for now, I am just running the filter and predator and I am loving that thing. Anyone else have a similar problem with the hose with stage 2 afe kit. Please post.

pk911,
Bet they sent you a LB7 intake tube, it won't fit at all!! The correct intake part number is 75-10612, odds you got a 75-10122 it's for the LB7's. We have sold a lot of the 75-10612's and not ahd any fit issues so the odds are you got an LB7 tube etc.

Mine is an LB7, and it was a PIA! I hated it so bad that I was ready to throw it in the river. Now I hate to take the filter off for cleaning, because it is so tight in the set up. Nice blue sock on it helps to go a bit longer between cleanings.

I have installed (and subsequently removed) several LLY stage 2 kits and they do fit, but not very well. They rub on the FICM wire harness when the tube is pushed far enough into the turbo inlet boot to get the hose clamp to hold. It also takes two people to get that far. I spoke with them about it and suggested that they make the angle on the end of the tube more accurately match the angle of the turbo inlet. They said it will be looked at and "taken into consideration", whatever that means...

I've got a feeling that I'll be making a model soon. It DOES fit, but IMHO, the ends should terminate square and flush with the components that they are connecting, and should not just leave it up to the hose to make up the difference...

I dont even use the tube that comes with the kit anymore because of fitment issues. I have been pushing the stage I kits recently because of this problem. The numbers AFE gives are only 20 cfm gain for the stage II over the stage I anyhow. Not really worth the money or the PITA if you ask me.

Thanks for the replies. I just left the shop again and showed him the problem. I think it is not worth the extra money as well and when I spoke to afe they said I was the only one with this problem. I refuse to have a setup like that on my truck rubbing on the pcm. Iam surprised so many units went out like that and I am the only complaining to afe. Their engineeers said that they are looking into it but I do not see a solution coming very quickly.
