Last week by truck wouldn't start. It ran fine on friday sat all week end it wouldn't starton Monday. The dealer towed it from my shop. There were no codes they primed and changed the fitler. It ran and stated and I needed it for a job, so I took it. It ran good for 4 days then it died yesterday. Today I reprimed it and took back to dealer. both times it got down to 28 degrees. the Truck is a 03 chasiss cab built in Dec 02 I bought it in Jan 03 It has 8700 miles on it. Both times it would just crank not even sputter.
I'm reading 1/4 to 1/8 tank could it be the tranfer pump not working causing the tank to to read more fuel that it can't get to out of the rear tank? I did put 5 gallons in each tank before I got it primed and started.

Did the dealer pressurize the tanks and look for a leak that way. I heard once that someone had a similar problem and found the problem in the fuel pump but I don't know anything about the pump and don't know how it could allow a drain back when shut off for a extended time.

My wife ran my truck out of fuel and it took 4 tries before all the air bubbles were out of the lines. I have done some long, heavy load drives and had it start then die, fixed by a bleed the next day. I have thought about getting the stainless bleeder screw.

If you are bleeding more than once you are pumping too fast after you see bubbles/fuel. Go a little slower. Later! Frank

It lost it prime 4 days after it was primed the first time. The first time it lost it prime for no reason. It has nothing to do about pumping too fast.
