Do you think that it is safe to tow 1500-2000lbs with the predator on 86hp?

i dont think you would hurt it but dont get on the trottle to much. and watch youe egt's. i would just kick it to the 40 or the 65 hp for the 2 min it takes. 2min vs saving a 3k tranny. your choice

I'm sure that it could be done, but I would go with the 65.

I tow my 4-wheeler on my trailer for about 30 miles about 3 or 4 times a month. That is all I was wondering, thanks.

Noticed you guys are running the predator. I'm seriously considering it for a tow tune. The edge/juice is more than I need and more money than I want to spend right now. I just had the LLY reflashed and it is running much better. Any problems with the predator? Anyone towing a 5ver? JJ :)

There was one guy on here with an lly that posted his drag times between edge and the predator. The predator won. I have also heard of alot of people having bad turbo bark with the edge. I only have the lb7, but it does really well there. I put it on 40 to tow once, and it did one helluva job.

I tow with my Predator on the 40hp tune, does a great job with my 10,000 lbs travel trailer. You should be able to tow a light wt. trailer on a higher tune if you have EGT guages ... just watch your temp!! I never let my EGT's go over 1200 degrees while towing.

I concur, 40hp for the heavy stuff, 60 if it's light and you have an EGT. I'm seriously impressed with the Predator. They both have benefits that the aother may not but for me the Predator just works.;) It also dumps the fatory settings and can be removed from sight if there's ever a need for service. I keep mine under the back seat at all times just in case it ever farts and I need a hook to get me to a dealer. :eek: Besides the Predator has massive low end power and bellows blackety-black smokey-smoke!!!):h
