Are there any sensor problems or errors when you get ride of the CAT-:t ?

you will get EGR codes but it takes a while for them to activate the SES light. I just installed full exhaust and although the SES light was not on I did have two EGR codes in the system. It detects there is no backpressure and trips the code.

I took my CAT off at 600 miles and I have 6500 miles now and no codes yet. I check everyonce in a while with my powerpup.

Briano, maybe because you have the K&N and the exhaust is why you are throwing codes? Is it 4 inch? my 2 cents worth????

<---- No codes on a CA truck with Dead Kitty.

Something to note about the K&N... if any of the filter lube gets on the MAF sensor, it'll cause problems! Maybe this is common knowledge and is posted about elsewhere, but just thought I'd pass it along. I had a K&N on my old gasser and loved it, but I'm hesitant to put on on my NEW DMAX.

ajarther you should try the AFE filters they are constructed so much better than a kn filter kit and they fit nice too.

2002WhiteLightning, thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out. I'm pretty nervous right now trying anything aftermarket. I guess it's partially because my truck runs so great just as it is! Like the rest of you, I'm sure that I could get better mileage if the ol' foot wasn't so heavy...):h

Thanks-
AJ

If you have the LLY and stage 2 kit, the pipe is going to lay on the bocsh unit. As far as I am concerned it is not the best fit at all. The filter is fine. Just my 2 cents.

I have had the cats off of my LLY's for a combined total of about 60,000 miles. No codes, no problems.

Just took the plunge today, seems alot more responsive.. and the turbo at idle sounds like a pair of heavy duty hair clippers, then it starts to really whistle at WOT. Also I've noticed a gurgling sound, is that ok/normal? almost like air is bouncing around trying to get out.

Anyone remove their cat and use an MBRP setup? Just wondering how well the pipe fit for you? I had to really crank down on the clamp and am somewhat afraid it'll snap or something

How do you gut the cat?

I think super diesel has proven that there is no need for aftermarket air boxes. 800 hp on a stock paper filter. Not to mention.......the vvt is sensitive to oil as well as the maf sensor. Its my personal opinion that the kn type filters flow no better than a stock paper filter on the dmax.

Mine fit fine and I installed it a while after I installed the rest of the MBRP system. I made sure I had good contact between the turbo down pipe and the MBRP pipe. Then I put the clamp around the joint and thightened it up. It did "click" on at some point but it didn't seem like I had to use excessive force to get it to tighten up.
