Are there ANY benefits to using this over "regular" diesel? Improved performance or increased fuel mileage?

I get about 10% better mileage, and a higher level of trust. I purchase the same place Federal Express purchase their fuel. Sunoco Diesel Supreme

Has higher cetane rating which will allow better economy. When I am in Texas, that is what I use, and the engine is quieter and gets better ecoomy.

Basically it's regular diesel on steroids. Higher cetane rating, and better lubricity additives. And if you live far enough north, it's get's a cold weather additive as well. Suppose to provide better mileage and cold weather protection, without having to blend with #1.

Scotty, for the best answer on that, you need to call your local distributor. Everything is not always what it seems. Here in Memphrica, ALL our diesel comes from the Williams refinery. It's straight #2 low sulphur with an anti-static additive. But several stations around town sell this same stuff as PREMIUM diesel.

You will get some different blends the farther north you go and they vary from distributor to distributor.
