: LMM 17's and Toyo Open Country AT 285/70/17, YEA!!!
nicksdeez 11-29-2007, 08:21 PM I literally just got back from Les Schwab where I bought a set of new LMM 17" wheels that had come in from a dealer who swapped out wheels and mounted 285/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT's E load rated etc. Man, do they look excepational. The offset tucks them in nicely, the way the truck should look without lifting. Definately no need to crank on the t-bars and if I have to trim the front valence, it will only be very, very minor. I'd rather do that anyway. I am super happy and will post a pic when I get a chance. I recommend this set up to anyone. It was a bit pricely... I paid $1,100 for the wheels, including the LMM center caps, and tires; and then gave them my old wheels and tires with 12k miles.
Overall very happy... the new wheels are great looking too on our classics! :)
MankesMax 11-29-2007, 09:14 PM Congrats. do get some pics up. And please tell us you paid $1,100 for the wheels and tires, right?

ScottyB 11-29-2007, 09:40 PM I've recently had the same tires put on a set of Cheyenne 6 wheels from Weld. I would love to say they look awesome, but to be honest, I haven't seen my truck since they were put on. I work away from home and won't get to see them till just before Christmas. The sooner you could get pics up the better. What are specs on your wheels? Offset? Backspacing?
Thanks!
capflya 11-29-2007, 09:43 PM Awesome deal! I paid about the same for my setup. I picked up h2 wheels from a dealer for $50/each and then put on cooper ATR's 285/70/17. IMO this is the perfect size tire for a non-lift kit truck. Congrats on the great find! -David P.S. Check my garage for pics, for some reason I can't copy the image location or upload a file.

The deal worked out like this... basically a straight trade for the LMM 17" wheels with my 16" PYO wheels and tires. Then I paid $1100 for the tires... they wanted $1300 so I was able to get approx. 15% off. Toyo's are expensive, the first quote was over $261 a piece plus mounting, balancing etc. I also had them put in the high pressure steel stems too.
dlewis1340 11-30-2007, 01:02 PM PICS MAN PLEASE!!! Lots of them !!!
ScottyB 11-30-2007, 05:16 PM ... the first quote was over $261 a piece plus mounting, balancing etc.
This is frickin' BS!!! I get my package priced and look at the quote and tell them to remove mounting and balancing from the cost if it's on there. If they say no, I take their quote somewhere else and do the same thing after showing the first quote. If I'm spending that much on wheels or tires, they can try to do something that will get me to come back. It should be done as part of a sale without exception. If I brought a set of tires and/or wheels in from somewhere else to get mounted, THEN I could accept paying for the mounting and balancing. I've never paid for it and will not.

EdoHart 12-03-2007, 09:20 PM Yeah, that looks really nice. And to do it without lifting is a plus. I'd like to hear if you decide you need to trim the front valence at all.
nicksdeez 12-04-2007, 01:16 PM Nope... I have no plans to lift at all... not even crank the torsion bars... I did trim the front valance just a little bit, but I gave it a nice curve and didn't cut above the lkower body line and it turned out great. If you did know, or weren't looking for it, you would never know I trimmed :D

You afraid you'll slip and fall on your sissy ass getting out? :flipa: It's only when you go in circles that you seem to have problems with gravity:badidea:
nicksdeez 12-06-2007, 11:58 AM LOL, I am afraid that my gravity problem will turn into a 'going up the ramps' problem :o:... if that back end of my truck is any higher....
IIRC you have been known to see your KQ in action as you are laid out sprawling on mother earth too... might be a Suzuki thing!!! :flipa:
Duratime 12-06-2007, 12:09 PM Looks good. I like that tire and rim combo. My truck came with those rims, so I really happy to see what they look like with some 285's.

Sounds like it might be time for trailer anyway
nicksdeez 12-06-2007, 01:24 PM Yea, if the kids get a quad... it will trailer time for me all the time... hope the d-max can handle it... LOL:D

Two quads and a trailer, that's pushing it, pretty marginal I think :D
