For those needing high levels of AC power.

Under-hood generator expands
vehicle-based power

5-kW device allows a vehicle's stock alternator to remain in place

Addressing the increasing power demands of vehicle-based electronic systems, the 5-kW Blackbird under-hood generator allows a vehicle's stock alternator and electronics to remain in place, unlike similar systems. Delivering constant power from idle to redline, the speed-independent unit weighs 75 lb, is belt driven, and requires no inverters or converters to deliver 120 Vac at 42 A.

The system is available for a variety of emergency, construction, and commercial vehicle engines, including the Ford F-Series 6.0L and 7.3L Powerstroke, 5.4L Triton V8, Cummins ISC, and the International DT466M, DT530, and DT570. Also available in dual-voltage versions, the system includes installation bracketing, control box, and cable. (From $5,000—available now.)

Just to make it clear, this is available for the Duramax correct?
This would be nice but like Max Power said "untill I saw "from $5000".
If I was to get this I would have to get the 2002 Chevy hood to make room for this, the instant heater, the train horns, and what ever else.
