If they are putting the latest design flywheel in, GM says it supposed to last close to 100,000 miles (although that's very hard for me to believe). Check my sig. for how long mine have lasted.

The last flywheel that was put in mine which was the best one out lasted some where around 600 miles. Good luck with the POS.

I had the lastest style flywheel installed after 5 of the "old" styles. This one has lasted about 6,500 miles so far and I do not do any heavy duty pulling and my truck is completely stock. I am hoping this one lasts, it sounds good so far. Good Luck

his new flywheel should last forever, as long as he doesn't drive his truck.

My truck has had three on it (53K miles) and there are some that have had 7 or more flywheels. If you drive on a highway a lot, trailer, or have a power module your flywheel will go sooner. But it will go at some time. It is just poorly designed.

recommend CPMac kit.

My truck has 42K on it and mine just now started making noise. I do a LOT of heavy pulling so I'm kind of suprised it lasted this long from what others have said.

Best thing I know to do is after the 4th one start pushing for the lemon law. Hope to see the 05 in the drive way with an auto in a couple of weeks.

Mine's growling now. How long have you waited until taking it in? It hasn't gotten any worse but I also need to go to Chicago end of next week and don't want to have it tied up in the shop. I'm the dealer's only 6spd so this will be a learning experience.

my guess is it should last for the trip. just be careful and you might want to turn down your chip. . . .

Tell me about it.I wonder how much money the car dealers gave these law making SOB. I lost some money, like every thing else but I'm finally got rid of that POS this morning. The flywheel was vibrating so much on the way up there this morning I was getting a little scared. Thats all I have done is heavy pulling. In between 28000 and 34000 pounds. Truck and 30ft flatbed trailer weighs in at 15300 pound. I would of gotten 4 flywheels in the first 15000 if I would of let them. Now I hate to but I'm going to get a Ford because GM really pissed me off in the last 3 days so now I say f###em.

I really wish GM would solve there rectal inversion problem and fix these flywheels. I do a lot of hauling and I like a six speed, but I'm not going to buy a detuned LLY. I can't understand the concept of detuning a manual truck. It can't be that hard to fix.

How do you get the dealer to keep replacing your flywheel/cluthch. I had mine replaced 3 times before 50K miles. The factory replacement was good for 12k miles. Before the warranty ran out, the flywheel gave out (making noise) again. That time they told me that the factory would not replace it as long as it still worked, until they found a permanant fix for it. It still works, just makes a lot of noise. The factory told me the same story. I now have 70K on it. It still works, but makes noise, and still can not get it replaced!
