i am probably putting a lift on my truck soon and was wondering if any of you guys run airbags with your lift. is it possible? would i need to have custom bag mounts made to "fill the gap" when i put the lift in? or would i need taller bags? i already have the airbags..just basic firestone 2500's but i haven't put them in yet because i am unsure on what to do. the only thing i really tow is my 1/2 ton and even it makes the rear of my truck sag...would an add a leaf help and be less of a pain? here is a pic of the "saginess"

I have bags with my lift. Check pics in my garage. The bags will be a better ride then add a leaf.

thats a sweet truck man! that is exactly what i am talking about....is that essentially just a piece of "pipe" for an extension of the mount? are those custom or did you buy them? either way they look relatively easy to fab up. thanks alot for the help!!

bigunner1;
Talk with Nick at NorCal Truck (supporting vendor here at the D.Place).
I think he has a "kit" that was used on DaInferno's truck.

You will definately need spacers, you can buy them or fab them up. I should have pics in my garage of my spacers.

A bag should be at a relaxed position with no air in it when installed, especially a 2500lb bag, then you can measure or make extensions accordingly. Bags will make ride with no load worse, unless you run a tapered sleeve bag Firestone pt# 9001, but limits your load you can haul, but with a WDH hitch installed properly, you'll bealright. I prefer a 9001 bag, unlike a 2500lb bag, it rides great with load, without, with air and without. Adj rear shocks help for when towing and when not. Its like a formula.
If you are looking to bag rear for going up and down, you will have to play with some things to get a decent ride out of the thing like pull a couple leafs (placing more load on bag and allowing up and down travel) and install a traction bar to prevent axle wrap, bt not recomended. You can also go with a Kelderman's kit with rear 4 link with big rig bags, but pricey and involved. You can build a 4 link, but they say you shouldn't tow with a 4 link. So up to consumer to play around with ideas, but very possible. I had a suburban I straight axled on 44's and I built a double triangulated 4 link for rear with 3 bellow garbage truck bags and road sooooooooper smooth at any pressure (didn't take hardly any psi to lift), it got 16" of lift and dump, but I never tried towing with it. The bags will handle it, and the links were well built, I was just hesitant to try to tow with a monster truck with 25" of lift.

I built my own. Pics in my garage. I also had a set of the ez rides but had to modify them because the biggest they make is a 6" spacer. You can be pretty creative when making your mounts. I may revamp mine with some bigger bags when these go south but they definitely do the job well. Good luck.
