These wheels were painted with Rustolium flat balck, no clear coat. Tire are BFG AT ko's, 315/70/17's. As you can see, I trimed the valance a tad, still have some rubbing in the fender wells, will be installing green keys, and 2" blocks in the rear. Anyways, I like the wheels, what do you guys think..? :D

Did you come steal my H2's outta my garage? I just got mine painted too, just like that! Great minds think a like, well mine might not be so great. I'm waiting on my Nitto's to get them on for winter. They look good. now I have a better idea what mine are gonna look like.

Gloss and then cleared them. I also had the stock gmc center caps and had the gmc part painted and a custom bowtie painted on. This guy does awesome airbrush work. I'll get pics when I get them mounted. Tires should be in today.

Hammer 4,
This is a little off topic but how do you like your side exit exhaust. How is the in-cab noise level. Been debating about doing a side exit for a little while now, but just concerned about noise.

I like it the side exhaust. Cab noise for me isn't a big deal, having owned muscle cars for most of my life..at frwy speeds, it's not bad, you can hear it, but not loud enough to bother me, with the widows rolled up. If I'm in city traffic, I NEED to roll the windows up to hear my cell phone. Hope that helps some. Btw, the side exits do tend to soot up the side of my truck :D

I think you can blast it off and then paint that.

I got mine on and it doesn't look like the same truck! I love it. I'll get some pics tomorrow in the daylight and when I find my camera! I can't wait to see it in the daylight. I had to bring it to town to wash it.

Those look awesome! I've been looking at them on Ebay, just kinda window shopping, but I know I'd have alot less money in them than some other wheels I like, I was thinking of having a set powdercoated black.

Hot damn Hammer, that looks really really good. That would be my ideal choice for H2s for my truck. I really like the black and chrome/natural. I wonder if it's posible to selectively powdercoat, i.e. like you did with the rustoleum.

Hammer, how did you keep the non painted part non painted? Masking tape or did you wipe it down with something after you painted it? I've been thinking of painting mine black to go with the black center caps I put on

I just puschased H2 chrome take offs at Discount Tire for $100 each. Try Discount Tire and Americas Tire, they are associated.

Josh, on the spokes, I taped off with 1/4" tape, it didn't cover the spokes completely, but made wiping the Non Painted areas with brake cleaner easier. if anyone is going to use that method, make sure you use a old t-shirt, and fold it up so you have a solid surface for wiping..(I can hear the jokes now lol) otherwise you'll wipe off the paint in the tight areas.

On the lip, same thing, used 3/4" and taped off as much as I could, then wiped it down. BTW, I painted the rims with the tires mounted.

Oh, and I got my complete wheels for $350.00..:D

Before you did any painting, did you prep the desired painted surface in anyway? Any sanding or anything like that or did you just clean them good enough to paint?

Yep, sanded all the previously silver painted areas with 220 grit, after that, I wiped the rims down twice with brake cleaner, then used a tack cloth, and painted em..:D

How do some guys get the H2 center caps to work on the back? Is there a secret to it or do they have a semi-floating rear axle.
