I decided on getting BFG A/T's 265's to replace the factory tires. I was just wondering what you guys thoughts were on getting load rated D or E. Load rated D on the BFG's is 3042 which is the same as the old stock E rated tires. I pull a gooseneck with my tractor in the summer and that's about it. I have never had any problems with the stock tires when hauling my tractor. So, should I go with the D or E on the BFG's. I know there is more ply's on the E's, but does one seem to wear faster than the other, or is one softer than the other. I just want to get the best wear and safety when on the highway pulling 20K lbs. Thanks

From a safety standpoint I'd go with the E rated tire pulling 20k. The sidewalls will flex a lot less than the D rated ones.

I have 285s and even though they are only load range D they are still rated to hold more weight than the 245 load range E stockers. I am about to replace them with E load range ones though (because they are bald). No problems though, although I wonder if it would cause a problem with insurance if you ever had an accident related to weight.
