Well, Just picked up my truck from dealer after the complete injector replace. WOW...I have my original truck back. Loads of power, so quiet I can here my tires rolling down the road and those are Revo's....):h . No smoke to speak of even when I stomped on it. They even threw in a radiator flush and new Dex cool. So we are good to go. It took 9 hrs to perform the work.

Here is a real interesting comment that maybe some of the techs on the site can confirm. In speaking with the service manager and the tech they said that working on the LLY is worse than the LB7. They said that the external injector is a nice touch but everything else around it to get to them is a mess and trying to find out which injector(s) are bad is time consuming. They prefer the LB7.

Albert at the dealer said. "Keep your 01". It is the easiest to work on. I asked him about the Edge and he said Good safe choice.

Thanks GM for coming to the table and making this situation right. I was glad my truck was never down, I drove it right up to the day I dropped it off.

Gonna fill up after work and run a mpg check.:D

I can hardly hear mine run now at idle, such a smooth idle! What I was missing and didn't realize.

Good luck!

Duramax, if you don't mind, which dealer did you go to? I'm within reach of San Jose, and my dealer could break a cannonball in a sandbox with a rubber hammer. If my truck ever went in there for injectors, I'd never see it again. Sounds like your dealer is a lot better...
Thanks
Steve

Anything else just let me know.

Man thats good news. You guys need to stop with that smooth quiet off the showroom floor power bit. Making me want a new set when I probably don't need any. I think. ):h

Got to do the "dealer choice" deal and dang if thats not a pain.
Smaller family owned or high dollar state of the art?

9 Hrs. to repair isn't bad. Wonder if there are any special tools involved.

A bear,
Actually short of setting up the injector rate or balance, this appears to be a straight forward mechanical job. I have to believe most is removing items and getting to the valve covers. Not sure if there is a Special "J" tool required for injector removal. I know I will attempt this myself should the truck be out of warranty and they go away.
