Could someone direct me to a link or a reference to change the language on the DIC. Somehow it has changed from english to french and I would like to change it back. I have reviewed the pwners manual and done a search here but no luck. I am probably looking right over it.

Thanks

Thank you for the suggestion and the laugh, but I prefer to just change the displayed language back.

I think he was telling you that you could probably use this to figure out how to change the language back.

if you changed it to french, just look for the word "anglais"
if you changed it to spanish, look for "inglés"

Hope that helps.

I assume your truck has the steering wheel buttons. Hit the button with the arrow pointing to the box of lines(options). Hit that ten or so time until you see the phrase "Affichage Langue". Then hit your selector arrow button until you see English. Good luck---

Thank you Curicano. My truck does not have the steering wheel buttons though.

This is from the '04 owners manual:

If you accidentally choose a language that you don’t
want or understand, press and hold the personalization
button and the trip information button at the same
time. The DIC will begin scrolling through the languages
in their particular language. English will be in English,
French will be in French and so on. When you see
the language that you would like, release both buttons.
The DIC will then display the information in the
language you chose.
You can also scroll through the different languages by
pressing and holding the trip reset stem for four
seconds, as long as you are in the odometer mode.

Glad it worked for you. If you don't have the owners manual for your truck, sign up for "My GM Link". It is free and you can download a pdf owners manual for your vehicle from there. That's what I copied the text from in the other post!
