Hey all. Not sure of the info, but here goes....

Youngest little brother knows a guy with a Duramax with a twin turbo set up. Said it is a custom job. I have a look on my face that says BS.

Anyone know of a twin turbo set up? I am trying to get more info on this truck. Brother says the truck is putting out about eight hundred horse. The part that really says BS, is it is a STOCK transmission. Stated known facts that I have read on this site. Brother still stands behind above statements.

Any thoughts?

ATS had a twin turbo truck, but has since taken it back to a larger single unit. Twins on the dmax are a possibility but havent been proven to do anything that we cant do now. Dodge guys use them to greater gain then us. As for the stock trans, he is so full of chit his twins wont spool up. IF he is lying about the trans, I wanna see pics of the twins....

Let this guy know, i'll pay for his dyno runs to prove the 800hp, and if he does have twins and decent hp, see if he wants to go pink slips  Theres only 2 dmax's locally that i know of that have big hp, and neither of them have twins. More than likely the story goes, he's maybe had "twins" in the back seat ):h

I am gonna try and get more info, and try and see the truck. Little brother's (as source of info) information might be way out to lunch.

Good to read you again, Jeremy. Haven't seen much of you, since you went hunting "the great moose"

I can't say that I have seen a hopped up D-Max around this neck of the woods. Will push for info....

If you find anything out, let us know. Maybe have someone else to play with on the asphalt or dirt

I would like to see some pics of this setup. I think it is BS, but this day and age anything is possible. Pics will prove us all wrong. I think the call out on the dyno is the way to go.. Put up or shut up...

Supposedly this guy isn't bragging. Just a simple statement among friends. Since I haven't heard of anything, here, I kinda figure it is crap.

But my interest is peaked. Hopefully some real info to follow....

800hp would really surprise me. I am having twins built for my truck and will post pics for everyone to see when they are complete. The reason that I am doing them (twins) for is driveable hp with lower EGT's. I pull a heavy trailer 21 000lbs. and like to pull it fast:). My goal is to have a truck that I daily drive at 500hp level without EGT issues. Saying this I don't mean a truck that is capable of making 500hp, I mean constantly running it at 500hp and having the ability to go past that.

The only thing to keep in mind is that when you run NOS to make a bunch of hp, that # will go down, because your extra fuel has also gone down. On the average dodge cummins you will pick-up at least 70hp over a single turbo on diesel but on NOS your #'s will normally go down. I will use my old dodge as an example: on a single charger it made 516hp and on NOS it made 697hp. With twins it made 604hp and 683hp on NOS because my VP44 pump was out of fuel.

you GOTTA put picks of the twin turbo set up. Is it LB7 or LLY?

Stefan how do you propose to have a twin VVT turbo setup? If you are going with a "fixed" vane style turbo then who do you have to reprogram your ECM to eliminate all of the parameters set for the VVT technology as I see you have an LLY. Not that it's impossible just very very unlikely. The cost for a one off setup like that will cost upwards of $5K.

  What the heck did he just say??? You want a truck that will drive in the 500hp level but not capable of making 500hp???

What I meant to say was I want a truck that makes 500hp for my every day driving without temperature issues, then when I want more it's available.

That should not be a problem other than you have an LLY and I am not sure what is really available or who has done it to get you there. Keep asking around and I am sure you will find the answers that puzzle your brain...
