Hey all. Whats involved in a tune up, for the Duramax?

Can anything be done?

The most important thing is the air filter and the fuel filter. Their are no ignition parts to tune like in the old gassers. Just maintenance items.

Change the oil, change the filters, (all of them), Lube the Chassis, Gee, there isn't much else to do. Check all the other fluids, diffs, and t-case.

Treat the truck to a nice detail shop where they hand rub the mink oil into the seats after a good soothing warm bath and wax job. Your truck will love you for it. ):h

I'm not sure the truck should get treated better than me......

Thanx for the replies. Got thinking about it as I was fighting with my winter covers today. Cold and they shrank, as soon as they went out the door.

I personally like the irridium plugs and I only use ac delco plug wires. Ask your friendly GM counterman for help since they dont seem to have em laid out. Oh....while your under the hood greasing and such.....you might wana top off your fluids like windshield washer and blinker fluid

I sell retrofit kits for these so you can use the plugs and wires ratlover mentioned...

I beleive that at most service intervals, the muffler bearings are to be greased. Do not overlook this part of the tune up or the muffler will not work at it's most efficient levels.

Make sure to change the air in your tires every 5000 miles!
