What if any problems are there to stick a set of BFG AT's 315/70/17's on my 03 xtracab..tbars are cranked with stock keys, I do have a set of green keys though, I have 285 deulers now, and have no rubbing. Can I get away with some minor trimming on the valance..?

Oh, these tires are mounted on H2 rimz.

Uh NO, not with out a lift that is like a 36.5" -37" tall tire thats a lot of trimmingwith out a lift probably more metal than you have! A 305 70 17 will fit but 315 is a little to big. good luck.

They are 34.5".
Lots of post on how to to get these to fit. Also a DIY somewhere...
short version
trim valance, zip-tie parking brake, zip-tie inner wheelwell liner, a little BFH where they hit just under the passengers feet, extend the shock mount (or buy longer ones) Nor-Cal Nick has a great post on here somewhere about suspensions and cranking bars...
Also have the alignment checked once your done, odds are very high that it will be off even thou the truck still drives straight.
With all this, the tires may still rub, Mine always do for the first half of the tread life, after that they may never rub...untill you get a new set...

my bad 315/70/17 is the close to the same size as a 315/75/16 I didnt reaize it was a 70 series it is a tight fit but it can be done with green keys and some trimming & the right offset wheel. I had 35's on for a while but it was a mud tire and did not like the ride of the tire, it seemed to take some of fun out of the truck also. I will stick with 33's,
325/60/18 good luck

Got these for a song..lots a tread left, wheels are in decent cond. I just spent 4 hrs. sanding them, to get em ready fror Black paint. The lip, and spokes will remain polished, the rest will be Flat black. Now I gotta get the tires dismounted.:D

Thanks.

Thought I'd use my OEM caps, if possible. I've heard of others doing that, altough some had to trim the caps to fit..

Krylon rustolium...:D Stuff works great for a rattlecan job. I'm thinking, that I'll keep my oem caps chrome, just for an accent on the rimz.

Dude, do you even know what you are talking about?

A 315 70 17 is the tire I run in the summer. Fits fine with a slight bit of finesse.

You will need to trim the fender liners (plastic)
you will need to trim the front valance (plastic)
you will need to trim the rear portion of the flares up front (plastic)

And last but not least there are 2 tabs that you have to trim off of the firewall. Approximately a total removal of 2 square inches of metal.

Looks good.
The alloy centercaps will fit, just pull off the black tabs. The steel wheel center caps require some work to fit.
It's hard to tell in the pic...did you also paint the lip where the H2 center cap sits? You need to, if not. The Alloy caps fit inside that and you will see it.

Hammer, do you think that normal spraypaint will last especially in cold weather? Just curious ive never painted wheels with regular spray paint.

i think your best bet would be an Epoxy based paint, If you can get it, either that or, you may have to apply a clear coat. Never had to deal with real cold weather, so I'm just guessing on a clear coat if you use regular spray paint( Krylon). No need if you use epoxy based paint.

Have painted about 8 sets of rims using regular paint with a clearcoat..no problems. I'll have to see how these hold up, as they have no clearcoat..:D

Haha. yes i do but i dont feel the extensive cutting he did was necessary. Just take your BFH and roll that pinch weld and bottom of the inner fender over. Then cut the bottoms offf of your fender liners till they dont rub. Then zip tie the parking brake cable back to one of the two metal eyelet things behind the fender liner, followed by zip tying back the fender to either the cable or fender liner. If you want pictures ill take some tomorrow.

Yeah. and once you look behind the fender liner youll see the two metal eyelet type things im talking about. Just zip tie your cable to the top one and then i zip tied the liner back to the top one as well. no rubbing whatsoever with the wheel at full lock in either direction in reverse
