Exactly, I think after reading a couple of other threads, we might have to make the holes a bit bigger, dosent make much sense but im gonna get a set in at the dealer and see if they look like they will. I will keep you posted.

Hey deadsquirrel, I dont know anybody has done what we are talking about. I have been swamped lately with school, finals are in a few days but as soon as Im out early next week im going to the dealer. I am pretty sure they have a set in, if not I will order them but then I will see if they fit and I will let you know asap.

Maybe someone else will chime in and let us know too before.

I think the newer ones use a smaller hole in the cab, so if you already have the old lights you can't use the new ones.

No mods were needed. I had 3 bulbs shoot in two months so I installed some 194a led bulbs into some 1/2" instrument panel sockets from auto zone. If there's not one near you most likely can find them on their web site. I would think any 194a led bulb would work just as long as you use those sockets.
They are indeed brighter but I have noticed you lose a little light transmittal to the sides-from the front it is quite a noticable difference

You need a larger hole as the old style ther was nothing hanging below the mounting surface and the new LED style has everthing seales inside and the acual plug in location hangs below the mounting surface. You can pull your dome light down and unplug the new style as the old style to unplug it you would have to unscrew the light. The light plug is the same. It looks differant but plugs in and snaps the same.

Its not a matter of making them work its a matter of how much work...:D I think I will be able to make them work with a little bit of work with harnesses and then once I get it figured out you guys will have a decent working diagram to base off of....as to what to cut and not to. Alright guys....good news and bad news....

First, EVERYTHING IS LOOKING GOOD....as far as the lights go. Suprisingly the lights fit in the origional holes which kinda suprised me with a little finagaling( Didnt get to the middle bar though). Second thing is that the harness hookup is also....the same....I then thought this was too simple. I almost knew that they wouldnt turn on because of the LED's and how and where it is resistored from the power supply and where exactly the power clips are. The clips into the light are almost exactly the same so just for the heck of it I plugged em in, of course it didnt work but they were almost the exact same clip. PICS BELOW...the bad news now is that while I was on top of my truck....:D the damn power is gone not so bad...if it where summer! but its below zero and that barn got cold, AND QUICK. Anyways enough yapping. I will go and grab an elec. diagram from the stealer in the morn. after plowing cause we are getting dumped on again..... but I think it is going to be a TON easier than I thought. I will grab my VM and see the power running and go from there too. Sorry for the slight delay but I have attached a few pics of the clips etc to show you and the snow on my work truck after 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes... sorry again guys...but I will get this done VERY QUICK

ohh, and Tim, as far as price goes, I got them pretty cheap IMO for around 115 bucks i think, i threw it on the account but im pretty sure thats what it was....not bad if you ask me.

Thats what im looking for....I just want to make sure there isnt some sort of inline resistor of some sort or some new fangeled device on the NBS harness ... just to keep them in tact....! I dont forsee any problems but just wanna stay safe. One thing I dont get is that now that I have figured out what is pos and neg why dont the actuall LED's ignite on the board....? This is why im thinking there might be an inline resistor or something similar somewhere along the line. My dealership has an extra harness from the NBS lights so I may try to hook it up to the block ip, (unpluging the stock harness) and see if i can get light on the new bulbs...:D Dosent make anysense why it would make a difference but we will see in a while here. I wanted to try this but "according" to the wiring diagram and the extra harness at the stealer the wires were "right".......:D still dosent mean anything though! what do you think you will have to drill/modify ?

The only thing that I found is that the holes for the screws themselves are a little bit off. I have to make sure that the other holes are covered up and I can put some sealer over them and go from there. From what I see the old holes are covered up on both side ones! I did however switch the wiring around and they did have power according to the VM. So I then hooked up power to one and boom, lights were on. I hope to have them soldered, im gonna cut and solder, not splice just for kicks and longetivity. Then I will at least put them up there and put up the pics.

.......:D.........

I will say the new style lights look SWEEEEEET on the Classic style trucks, YES, i finally got around to making them work....Bad news is, you might have to wait till thursday for me to get pics up and get them actually mounted and actually hooked up but light from them I did see...gotta get the drill out a bit...., maybe or just might 3m them down and see how that turns out......

....and Tim, I'll send you an email in a little while and let you know about the lights!

Thanks for your patience guys.....sorry it took me sooooo long but it seems like evertime I "need" to do something it snows EVERYDAY......but I guess the snow pays for me to do it.....:D
What was the problem?

Alright guys....like I said on thursday there would be an update. I have fiugured everything out......finally.....something that should only have taken 5 minutes....:o:

Anyways, all the lights turn on and stay on when the wires are flipped. Just cut, flip and resolder/heatshrink em.....the only thing is is that the holes that are drilled for the lights are not the same. The left and right can be covered up by the LMM lights but.....the center old style one was wayyy to large and cannot be covered up what so ever....thats the bad news. im gonna still probably do this because it does make your truck look soo much better! I dont know if its just me but they dont look as good on the new trucks as they do on the old style but just my .02.... but i think i will just get the holes filled and roof painted again...maybe just a portion if possible not to get noticable lines. Sorry for the bad news all.
