Do all Allisons (01-05) take the same part # Transgo kit.I just bought one from another member and he stated it was for an 01-04,my truck is an 04.5. Sorry for the dumb question.

I beleive they are all the Allison 1000 transmissions.

Transgo shift kit fits all Allison 1000's. Your only concern will be with the Transgo converter flow valve on late '04s if you are going to install one. The late '04s are different and do not replace it( actually you can't, Transgo valve will not fit)

So is the one in the late '04's up to the standard of the Transgo valve or even improved over the previous valves? Just curious. Also when you say late '04's do you mean when the LLY was introduced?

Mike, so do I leave the stock converter flow vavle on?

Somewhere around May or June '04, Allison changed their converter flow valve. Probably had a lot to do with the new G solenoid and the way they are controlling pressure. At this point in time I do not know anyone that makes a replacement.
