Less than 200 miles ago, on the way to the dealer for new injectors my check engine light came on and tranny would not upshift. Dealer changed the shift module and everything was fine until today. Again, check engine light and no upshift past 2nd. Checked the code and get p0700. Could this be the same part failed again? If so, hopefully the Chevy dealer warranties the last repair but here goes another 70.00 in synthetic fluid in the toilet and a 25 mile tow to the dealer.

P0700 is a generic code. All it says is that the TCM (trans computer) has its own separate code stored. You need to find out what that separate TCM-specific code is...

Dealer could not duplicate the problem. They called GM and they told dealer to trace the wiring harness to the tranny. Turned out the there was a chafed wire to the shift module. They repaired that at a cost of 93.00 and everything is fine. I wonder if the chafed wire was the cause of my shift module goinfg bad?
