Truck was completley empty no trailer drove it about four miles ran good like always, shut if off and came back out about an hour later started it and it dies and just blows lots of white smoke and wont rev up?? The dealer says it might have a hole in the piston? Wouldnt I get any warning signs? I had the bully dog on performance mode?

And I pulled a 1404 code with my bully dog? I took that off and still nothing. It will idle but thats about it?

The warning sign for a pending cracked piston is normally a little longer cranking, and some white smoke when it starts that clears up.

When it finally "breaks through", it will make alot of white smoke, it will idle rough, and most importantly, it will pressurize the crankcase. Pull off the oil fill cap (710 cap for those in New Jersey) and start it up and see if heavy airflow comes out.

i have a 05 lly that had the same thing happen!! i could prime it and it would go for a few miles then fall flat on its face, top speed of 15 mph. i limped it back home then had it towed to the lealer and they're claiming its injectors??? not under warrenty. im running edge juice w/attitude true flow cold air. other than that bone stock with 89000 miles.

Your issue almost sounds like a bad load of fuel. I experienced something similar a year ago and a few injectors and a new fuel filter later and I was good as new!

The New Holland did the same thing this weekend, was a lot of water in the fuel.open the valve under the fuel filter, and catch some fuel, look for water.

I am not going to argue this because I agree. however I have been told on several occasions that the 100,00 mile warranty only covers rotating external parts and the rotating assembly. I have seen it in writing unless this was generated by the dealer but this is just my experience
