I wish to mount two 55 watt floodlights on the my headachre rack. Is it possible to splice the circuit that powers the OEM cargo light so they all come on with the dash switch or will this overload the circuit? Obviously keeping water out would be of prime concern. If this is not possible can someone please explain to me the best way to go about doing this. If I need to get a second switch than I will but I'd prefer to have it all on one. Thanks in advance.

it is going ot be somewhat difficult to do, first thing is that you need to locate that circuit and I think it is on drivers side fuse block (Dash) using this circuit to power up a relay which is feed from a + hot all the time circuit should do it, just running and locating the wires is a pita....

Most of our trucks have the wiring for a camper shell. Mine was taped and tied inside the left frame rail about at the joint between the cab and box. You can find a power wire to have the relay switch from there.

Excellent, I'll look tomorrow when it's light out. Thanks for the info.

It might be easy to just pull the cover off the cargo light and tap into that wire then fish it down to a relay to power the lights instead of looking for it at the fuse panel.

On my 02' the cargo light is switched on the ground circuit, I'm guessing the 07's are different. If they aren't then you can't just tie into the cargo light, they will both be hot until switch is turned on.
On mine I tied a relay into the parking light circuit, ground side, ( on the 02's everything is switched on the ground circuit ) with a switch in the cab also to run the lights on my headache rack. It's been so long ago that I did it, I'll have to go look at it again. Jim
